Self isolation

People with COVID-19 in England can end their self-isolation after 5 full days, as long as they test negative on day 5 and day 6.

If an individual is still positive on day 5, then a negative test is required on day 6 and day 7, and so on.

2 negative lateral flow tests must be recorded before leaving self-isolation earlier than the full ten day period.

Take a lateral flow if you are meeting people

If you are planning on meeting friends, family or going into work you should take a lateral flow.

Testing kits are available everyday by ordering online at

Get Boosted

·       a frontline health or social care worker

Report your lateral flow tests

It's really important to report your lateral flow tests - especially if they are positive, so you can get advice and support during your self-isolation, ensure your close contacts are alerted, and so we know what's happening in our community.

You can report your test result by calling 119 or visit
